Commercial Fridges
Commercial Fridges
OzCoolers supplies commercial fridges to cafés, restaurants, bars, supermarkets, hospitals, pharmacies and laboratories across Australia. Our range covers upright storage, glass door display, undercounter, bar, prep station, open face and specialist medical refrigeration, all built to hold temperature in continuous commercial use. Free metro delivery on selected brands to Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide, with SilverChef Rent-Try-Buy finance available for eligible businesses.
How to choose a commercial fridge
Match capacity to service volume first. A small café generally needs 200 to 400 litres, a mid-sized restaurant 400 to 600 litres, and a large commercial kitchen or butcher shop 600 to 1,000 litres. Then check the practical constraints: doorway and lift access, ventilation clearance at the rear or base, ambient temperature rating for your kitchen, and whether the shelving is gastronorm compatible.
Solid doors hold temperature more efficiently and suit back-of-house storage. Glass doors drive impulse purchases and suit front-of-house display, at a higher running cost.
Types of commercial fridge

For walk-in cold storage, see our custom coolrooms, quoted to your site. If you also need frozen storage, browse commercial freezers and ice machines.
Medical, vaccine and laboratory refrigeration
Vaccine storage in Australia is governed by the National Vaccine Storage Guidelines, Strive for 5 (4th edition), which require a purpose-built vaccine refrigerator rather than a domestic or general commercial unit. Our vaccine and medical fridges hold a stable 2°C to 8°C, with digital temperature display, minimum and maximum recording, and alarm functions to support the daily monitoring and data logging pharmacies and clinics need for QCPP compliance.
We also supply cosmetic injectables fridges for clinics storing temperature-sensitive products, undercounter and bench-top medical fridges for consulting rooms, spark-free units for laboratories storing flammable solvents, and mortuary refrigeration for funeral homes, hospitals and veterinary facilities.

Frequently asked questions
What size commercial fridge do I need?
Capacity depends on service volume. Small cafés typically need 200 to 400 litres, mid-sized restaurants 400 to 600 litres, and large commercial kitchens or butchers 600 to 1,000 litres. Size for peak trade rather than average days.
What is the difference between a commercial fridge and a domestic one?
Commercial fridges are built to run continuously, recover temperature quickly after repeated door openings, and hold safe food storage temperatures in hot kitchen environments. Domestic units are not rated for that duty cycle and will fail early in a commercial setting.
What temperature should a commercial fridge run at?
Food safety standards require cold food to be held at 5°C or below. Most commercial fridges are set between 1°C and 4°C to maintain that safely. Vaccine and medical fridges run a tighter 2°C to 8°C range.
Do I need a solid door or a glass door fridge?
Solid doors are more energy efficient and better suited to back-of-house storage. Glass doors suit customer-facing display where visibility drives sales, at a higher running cost.
Can I finance a commercial fridge?
Yes. SilverChef Rent-Try-Buy is available for eligible hospitality businesses, letting you trial the equipment before committing to purchase.
Do you deliver Australia-wide?
Yes. Free metro delivery applies to selected brands in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide, and we ship to regional areas nationwide.
What warranty comes with a commercial fridge?
Every unit carries a 12-month or longer manufacturer warranty, with parts and labour terms varying by brand.
Do you supply medical and vaccine fridges?
Yes. We supply Strive for 5 compliant purpose-built vaccine refrigerators, QCPP-compliant medical fridges, cosmetic injectables units, spark-free laboratory models and mortuary refrigeration.
