The Liebherr SUFsg 5001 MediLine is an ultra-low temperature upright freezer engineered for the most demanding sample and specimen preservation needs in medical, pharmaceutical, and research settings. It delivers an exceptionally deep temperature range of -40 °C to -86 °C, achieved through a static cooling system using environmentally conscious R290/R170 refrigerants. With a gross capacity of 491 liters (477 liters usable) and interior dimensions of 606/605/1300 mm, the unit offers substantial storage across three adjustable shelves plus four dedicated freezer compartment shelves, each rated for 50 kg of loading. The steel housing is finished in white, while the door is solid steel and the interior liner is built from stainless steel — a robust, corrosion-resistant construction suited to years of demanding ultra-low temperature operation.

Reaching and maintaining such extreme temperatures requires substantial insulation and power: the SUFsg 5001 features 103–180 mm of insulation to minimize thermal loss, along with a manual defrost system and a connection rating of 7.0 A (50 Hz / 230 V). This performance comes with an annual energy consumption of 2,884 kWh, reflecting the intensive demands of ultra-low temperature freezing, and the unit is rated to operate safely in ambient temperatures between +16 °C and +32 °C.

Monitoring and security features are built in to protect valuable, irreplaceable samples. An electronic controller with external digital temperature display allows for clear, at-a-glance monitoring, while visual and audible warning signals alert staff immediately to any fault. A volt-free alarm contact and LAN (Ethernet) interface enable integration with building management or remote monitoring systems, ensuring issues are caught quickly wherever the unit is located. The freezer includes a fitted lock for secure access, a defrost water drain for convenient maintenance, and right-hand door hinges. At 308 kg gross weight, the SUFsg 5001 is backed by Liebherr's 5-year warranty — a strong assurance of long-term reliability for an appliance built to safeguard critical, high-value stored materials.

Environmentally friendly refrigerants

Alarm test function

This test function can be used to check whether an internally or externally connected alarm system is functioning correctly. The appliance’s refrigeration performance is not affected by this test.

Monitoring system

The three-stage monitoring system consisting of integrated alarm notifications for temperature, door or mains electrical faults, upgradable features such as CO2 emergency cooling and online monitoring, ensure the very best protection for your stored items. In the event of a power failure, integrated 12-volt batteries immediately supply the electronics with power. Notifications are provided in critical situations.
